Qapp - Input Variable File - How to Open File in Python from Netbrain Desktop

Greetings, I am trying to open a text file named “simple-textfile’ on my NetBrain Desktop in a Python Script Module inside a Qapp but am receiving the following error message:OSError: [Errno 22] Invalid Argument: ‘nbfile://Desktop/simple-textfile’ How can I get Python to read or interpret the filepath and open it for parsing? Snippet Python Script:jfile = $Input1.jfile with open(jfile, ‘r’) as f:  asdf = f.read()  AddMessage(asdf) $Input1.jfile  is “nbfile://Desktop/sample-textfile” I tested the filepath with os and it returns that the filepath does not exist:import osif os.path.exists(jfile):  AddMessage(“The file path exists”)else:  AddMessage(“the file path does not exist”) Result:“The file path does not exist.” Any help is greatly appreciated! Best Regards, Dave

API changes in R12, not getting a list of all devices when using Get Devices API

Since the R12 upgrade, I'm not able to get all device using the API: /ServicesAPI/API/V1/CMDB/DevicesI'm only pulling 50 devices, and can’t seem to get the whole inventory. This was working fine previously. Anyone else running into a similar issue? Not sure if its an issue with my install and something changed or something with R12?

ADT Tables

Is it possible to have the ADT tables keeping the existing data and only update new data as an option?Example, once devices are queried, the information of online devices will be populated into the ADT, the next day, some of those devices might be offline and others online again, and again the table will only collect information of the online devices at that time and previous data will be lost because devices might be offline.Have ADT table that keeps building up on information as devices comes online.

Device hostname change - Discovery

Hello,I have a router device which is already present in netbrain. So when someone changes the device hostname in the device, would it reflect on netbrain automatically? Also added to that, if we run discovery task using an api with the device ip, does it change the updated details in netbrain? Thanks in advance  Regards,Charan Kumar N

Hello, Can a QApp ping the IP on the other end of a link with the “don’t fragment” bit set to that link’s MTU? Can this be done for every interface on the router?

Regexp in RESTAPI

Hello team, Is possible search in oneIPTable database by string ? In whole database ? Or use regular expression ? Problem is that when I open it via GUI a try search it goes via every field in database and is searching string as I type it to search. But when I want do it via REST API I can only go through  rows with one Key IP, old DNS, MAC et. But o want to go through whole database and find every device that contains in hostname  for example backbone.

Parsers for Cisco Nexus Devices

Does anyone have device configuration breakup parser for cisco nexus devices.I see it available for cisco router devices but can’t be use for cisco nexus devices since catalyst devices configurations by exclamation (!) but same is not available in case of cisco nexus devices.

How do I grab data via SNMP, display it, and alert if above a threshold?

We have some Infoblox DHCP/DNS servers that I’d like to poll DHCP scope usage and if above a certain percent, fire off an email. I’d like to display this scope usage data on a dashboard too if possible. Execute CLI Commands from the API

Is there some way to be able to execute CLI commands from the API and pull the files or output? It doesn’t seem there is a way to do it so I wanted to see if anyone has other methods that they have found that would work for this use case?

Hello!Is there a way to export a CSV file by using the “Script” node in a QApp? I want to filter a table with more complex logic than the “Basic Output” or “Subtable” nodes that a QApp can provide, and then export it to a CSV file. Thank you!

Qapp Output to Report or Filtered Table

Hello all.  Just wanted to post here to see if this is even possible.  I have a Qapp that creates a CSV file with specific fields.  The purpose is to create a filtered table or report that shows all of our network switches and the amount of unused interfaces.  The CSV just has all the raw data.  I would still need to create some logic that says interface status is either “down” or “administratively down”, the last input is over a year or never, and the media type is one of many options (example:  10/100/1000BaseTX) as I want to exclude fiber interfaces.  For each row in the CSV, I want to just count these.  Then, ideally, the report would simply show 2 columns.Column 1              Column 2Switch 1 Name        Number of Unused PortsSwitch 2 Name        Number of Unused PortsDoes anyone know if this can be accomplished within NetBrain or would I just need to utilize something external and work with the raw CSV data?Thanks.

Device Property mass updates

I created a device property for Last date of Support for old hardware for all devices in netbrainthru Tenent, GDR Data.  I can see the device propery at the end of the device propertiesand I can popout and edit the last date of support for 1 device and save with no issue.How do I update more than 1 device at a time. Thanks,Tony

How do I validate configurations in our environment to ensure consistency.

Can anyone advise if there is a way to validate a base configuration to other like devices to ensure compliance and our standards are being followed.For example, I have a device or model that I would like to ensure all other devices are identical such asLogging AAA/TACACS ACL’s NTPMy approach, which doesn’t seem to be working was Create a Parser to capture Configuration for text fields that I would like to ensure are consistent. Create a NI for prior fields that need to match. Created a specific test group for selected devices.However, when I run the NI, it only compares the fields that I selected to the previous baseline for the device, not the device I want it to model.Any advise or direction appreciated. Thanks.

API call stub make a path and run a runbook with variable data on top

Hello all, I do an API call to create a path (working well) and would like to run a runbook/qapp on the dynamic created map.In the stub manager there is the possibility to add a runbook. The runbook itself is been put to the map and can be run manually.But how could it be made with a variable input and a outomatical run? I already tried $destination to set as the input in the field Filter, as the varibale already exist in the “Map Creation” section but it is not taken as a variable.  The goal is make a path with source-destination , run the paket capture on the created map with  the filter set on the destination address.

Configuration change CLI commands

Hello! Is there a way to run configuration change CLI commands (for example “conf t” → “banner login ‘some banner’” → “exit” → “copy running-config startup-config”)? I saw that you can run show type CLI commands through benchmarks, but the config change ones don’t seem to work. Thank you

Rate Limiting Automation Library

Hello everyone, My network has a couple of sites, which were having download/upload speed issues. We checked everything on our ISP, it wasnt them. After running the Highlight MTU Interface QAPP we realized some MTU mismatches which fixed the issues after matching them.But one site is still having the issue, I am checking the sites’ configs but is are there any automation library that checks rate limiting, or give me a good overall health for the site.  So far I have tried the Overall Health View, nothing stands out, MTU matches. I’d like to have a real in-depth look to the entire network on the site.Thank you. 6
