Can NB help in detecting unauthorized network gear ?Such as devices used in a home environment such as NetGear, Linksys, Belkin, etc..These devices could be switches/hubs/AP’s.

I’m looking at a situation where my firm has bought out another firm and they’d like to merge accounts and the NetBrain instances.  On the accounts I’m sure the NB teams can figure that our but wondering how you can merge two different domains and will you lose the history of the devices?  anyone ever do this?  

Performed a manual switchover for a DR test.  All went well, but audit is looking for specific time it happened.  Where/can I find those Active/Inactive entries?  I see the audit log actions, but those just show the Tenant being switched, not technically which device it was Active on.

Is there a possibility to create a ping function that supports a subnet or group of addresses that could be run continuously during a maintenance window so devices can be shown responding prior to and checked following say a router or switch replacement to check the end host status.  Maybe an ARP cache as the source list?  This would be used for a before and after validation check. This would be helpful when performing lifecycle work and it would part of the runbook results that could be used in the map.

Good Day,Netbrain Version 10.0 How can I create a custom device Attribute using Python, NOT using the API method? Documentation shows how to do it using APIs, but not using the “non-API” method. I know the following Python methods/functions exist:SetDeviceProperty and GetProperty: Example:SetDeviceProperty("is_external_router", $_device.GetProperty("name"), "Yes, External Router")AddMessage($_device.GetProperty("is_external_router")) Of course, it’s not going to work (prints “None”) without first creating the new Attribute. As stated, I need to know what the function/method name is to create a custom attribute. Thanks in advance for your help. Dave

When in the ‘Device Details’ view, under the ‘CLI Commands’ tab, allow users to choose which command is the ‘Default’ command.Or alternatively, allow users to ‘Order’ the CLI Commands as they see fit, with the Top command becoming the ‘Default’.  

Hi, We need to perform an SNMP walk using a different username and password instead of the NetBrain discovery credentials.Parser library using netbrain SNMP discovery credentials.   

In certain regions of our network, we are not allowed to enable discovery protocols (such as CDP or LLDP) and Netbrain isn’t effective at discovering layer 2 neighborships in these cases.  Is there a way that I can manually teach Netbrain of layer 2 neighborships when it cannot figure them out on its own?

During device discovery, we are getting error “Failed to login, error code: 301; error description: Timeout.”We can ssh and login to devices from front server.

Looking at the REST API documentation, i can’t see the different between Get Site Info API and Get Site Properties API. They both have the same URI and paramters: GET /V1/CMDB/Sites/SiteInfo{?sitePath}|{?siteId} GET /V1/CMDB/Sites/SiteInfoQuery Parameters(*required) Name Type Description       sitePath^ string Full path name of a site. I was wondering how everyone backs up their mongo database?  Are you using mongodump or 3rd party backup software?

Hi everyone,A couple of days ago suddenly in Service Monitor the data server is showing as offline and all services stopped. The thing is that actually the data service is on and responsive, and service monitor agent is running as well as all of the services.An even stranger thing is that when I restart the FS the data server appears as Connected with all the services running, but after a couple of seconds it goes back to Disconnected.Any ideas on this? Our Netbrin version is 10.1.15.10 in case is needed.

Hi again everyone.Is there a way to not to check SSH credentials in a Palo Alto Firewall in Netbrain? Our firewall rejects those kind of auth attempts (as many other FW do) so it appears as a validation error in the map and seeing it red is kind of nerve wracking. Thanks in advance

I had an oopsi and now cannot get my front server reconnected. In the 2 server deployment I accidently hit yes on the uninstall front server controller and then it no longer accepted the credentials but I do believe I was using the same credentials. One of the tests were successful for reconnecting to the front server but yet it would never reconnect. So I thought why not jump back another level and uninstall FS and FSC and start over, now I have even less than I previously had. Suggestions on how to not lose a ton of work but get this deployment healthy again?

I see an option option to parse json tables, however, I am not able to populate the “Data Scope”, which prevents me from moving forward.
