NetBrain 12.3 introduces Quick Assessment, a new capability designed to help network teams quickly validate whether a known issue exists elsewhere in the environment before it causes broader impact.

In the example shown, an engineer is troubleshooting a voice aggregation issue between Boston and Toronto. Using a runbook along with the AI Companion, the team isolates the root cause to a QoS misconfiguration. That solves the immediate issue, but it also raises the bigger operational question: if this problem exists in one area of the network, could it also be affecting other sites, applications, or devices?

That is where Quick Assessment comes in.

With Quick Assessment, engineers can take what they learned from a single incident and scale the same validation checks across the wider network. Instead of stopping after the root cause is found, they can proactively test predefined critical applications and devices for the same type of misconfiguration.

In this workflow, the engineer selects a group of critical applications and runs a QoS misconfiguration check across the related application paths. NetBrain then automatically verifies those paths, helping the team quickly identify whether the same issue exists elsewhere. This shifts the process from a reactive response to a more proactive validation approach.

The same method can also be applied to critical devices. In the demo, the engineer runs the QoS check across a predefined list of QoS-related devices to look for additional configuration discrepancies. The results confirm that the issue is isolated to the device already identified, giving the team confidence that the problem is contained.

Beyond the immediate assessment, NetBrain also supports continuous monitoring through a post-mortem dashboard, allowing teams to watch for signs that the problem may return over time.

Quick Assessment in NetBrain 12.3 helps teams do more than fix a single issue. It allows them to take the insight gained from one incident, validate the rest of the network faster, and reduce the risk of repeat problems.
