Timeout error on Cisco Router

When I tried to discover my Cisco router, it didn’t give me the CLI configuration file… I can see from the log that there is an error “Connecting failed, error code: 1080, error description: Timeout.”.Is there any setting I can change to make it work?

How to increase the route table entry limit?

I have a router that failed to retrieve route table, the live access checks fine. The retrieval log says following, how can I increase the route table entry limit to retrieve the route table? The number of entries(156321) in the route table cmd show route table inet.0|no-more exceeds the limit of route entries.

Hi guys,We cannot discover devices via Linux Jumpbox. The discovery log shows below:Front Server CLI timeout(30 seconds), disconnect to Jumpbox x.x.x.x target device y.y.y.y, last received: [Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)?]Try to set the Yes/No Prompt, still not working. How do I get started with Python Scripting? Are there any Code examples?

I’m reasonably familiar with python and other automation frameworks like Ansible. I’m trying replicate existing functionality we have via a python script within Netbrain via a Qapp. My plan is to pull data from devices and to manipulate the output with Python before returning a table/CSV to the user. I’m finding it fairly frustrating to get started with the python element in terms of feeding the data into the python script and outputting the data. Are there any good resources for learning this element or any code samples? The documentation I’ve seen doesn’t appear to focus on this element at all.

Adding large number of devices to a single map

Hi all,I have a list of 50+ devices (hostnames) in a file which I would like to add to a single map. They are spread among many existing groups. Is there a way how to have them added to a map all at once? Like “Add to a map every hostname from this csv file” kind of at once.Or do I have to add them one by one from search menu?Related question, once I am finished with discovery process in domain management, is there a way to immediately put all discovered devices into a single map?Thank you for your timeJan Dudic

I am looking to see if there is a report or an easy QAPP that can query a device (like a core switch) and return all configured IP addresses (some devices have multiple VRFs). We have a few initiatives that this would be a handy set of data (dynamic on demand) for us to have.

Discovering All Devices for M&A Purposes

We allow license surging in Release 10.x. For a company whose growth strategy is growth through acquisition, our ability to scan the network of the “to be acquired company” is immense. However, it is my understanding we can only scan access points and API based devices. So legacy network devices, (i.e., routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls) cannot be scanned. If my understanding is wrong, please correct me. I feel that if this is correct, it is a tremendous shortcoming in the value proposition we can offer companies like Nestle and Centene. I’d like to be able to punch a hole into the “to be acquired company’s” firewall, install a front server and discover their entire network, not a subset of it. Can this be something we address in the near term?

Netbrain - Discovery Method of Devices

While doing administrator tasks on Netbrain, there could arise a requirement to check whether the devices were discovered via SNMP instead of CLI. Build a qapp with canvas containing device queue, followed by ‘script’ node. Using SNMPWalk in NB

If you want to use SNMPWalk on a device, this is the way to do it:Open Parser Library.Under My Parsers use the dropdown menu and select New Advanced Parser.When the new parser opens, select SNMP and SNMPWalk.In the OID field type 1. to start at the top of the MIB.After clicking on Retrieve, you can select a device.

API Support - User Details

Where is the best place to get support for API related questions? The API is maintained on GitHub, which has its own built in issue tracker. Our support contract gives me access to the support portal where I can open tickets. The Exchange gives me access to the Netbrain community. Which is the “best” place to get support for API issues? Specifically, when I send an authenticated request to the CMDB/Users API endpoint and I provide the authentication server, username, tenant, and domain parameters, I get back just basic user information for the given user. If I don’t specify anything except the admin account name I get back a lot more data. I’m assuming by not specifying tenant and domain, the API is pulling data at the system level for the username instead of the domain level. For user tracking and auditing, I need to be able to get back the detailed data for domain users as well as system level users.
