What’s New in the Golden Assessment Library Version 26.06
The Golden Assessment Library (GAL) keeps growing — more vendors, more checks, and deeper coverage of the design patterns and operational-health signals that keep your network reliable. Version 26.06 is about making that depth easier to adopt and easier to act on. Here are four updates worth your attention.
01 · MODULAR LIBRARY
Install only the modules your network needs
GAL is now delivered as focused, independently installable modules.
As the library has grown, installing everything at once is rarely what a team actually wants. In v26.06, GAL is packaged as separate modules that you install independently. You choose the modules that match your environment and skip the rest — which keeps installation faster, package sizes smaller, and your assessment library focused on the technologies you actually run.

Why it matters
- Install only what’s relevant — a data-center team might take Infra and Capacity, while a cloud team takes Cloud and SDN & SD-WAN.
- Smaller packages install faster and are easier to manage and upgrade.
- Adopt new capabilities on your own schedule, one module at a time.
02 · CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
See the limits before you hit them
Capacity planning, built into the library.
Capacity planning has often meant spreadsheets, vendor tools, and tribal knowledge. GAL v26.06 brings capacity assessment directly into the library, with 228 ready-to-run checks that span the dimensions that actually cause problems when they fill up:
- Compute and memory headroom (CPU, crypto CPU, memory)
- Forwarding-table scale (ARP, MAC, RIB, TCAM, MPLS labels, EVPN routes)
- Routing-protocol scale (BGP max-prefix, EVPN route-scale)
- Overlay and tunneling (IPsec tunnels, VXLAN VNIs and VTEPs)
- Session and crypto throughput (concurrent sessions, NAT, SSL/TPS, decryption)
- Service utilization (DHCP, CIR) and power / licensing
Why it matters
- Move from reactive to predictive — spot devices trending toward their limits (for example, passing 80% RIB utilization) before they affect traffic.
- Results are dashboard-ready, giving you a clear baseline for hardware-refresh and license-sizing conversations.
03 · RULE DISCOVERY
Rule Discovery now closes the loop
Guided remediation for Tier-1 and Tier-2 rules — always with your approval.
Rule Discovery already learns your network’s real design patterns and flags where devices drift away from them. In v26.06 it goes a step further: discovered rules can now flow through to remediation, classified by how safely a fix can be applied. Every rule is sorted into one of three tiers.

Why it matters
- Less manual cleanup of low-risk configuration drift, so your team spends time where it counts.
- Nothing is pushed automatically — every Tier-1 and Tier-2 change is pre-validated and waits for your approval within your change window, and Tier-3 is reported, not changed.
- Every correction is measured against your golden standard, keeping devices aligned as the network evolves.
04 · NEW VENDOR
Cisco WLC joins GAL — for assessment and Rule Discovery
Bring wireless into the same Golden Standard as the rest of your network.
Wireless infrastructure has often lived outside network-wide assessment programs. In v26.06, Cisco WLC (Wireless LAN Controller) is fully supported in both GAL’s Golden Assessment and its Rule Discovery engine. The same design-consistency checks, operational-health assessments, and discovery-driven validation you rely on for the rest of your network now extend to your Cisco wireless controllers.
Why it matters
- Hold your wireless controllers to the same design and health standards as your switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Rule Discovery learns your WLC design patterns and validates new controllers against them as your wireless footprint grows.
05 · CLOUD, SDN & SD-WAN
Deeper cloud coverage and sharper SD-WAN diagnostics
A major refresh across cloud and software-defined networks — built to work better with Deep Diagnosis.
v26.06 delivers a substantial upgrade to GAL’s cloud and software-defined coverage:
- Cloud: The Cloud library has been significantly expanded and improved — broader, deeper coverage that strengthens AI-assisted Deep Diagnosis for cloud environments and lifts overall GAL capability.
- SDN & SD-WAN: The SDN and SD-WAN library has been significantly improved to work more effectively with Deep Diagnosis.
How to get v26.06
- Upgrade to NetBrain IE 12.3.0.4 or later.
- In Intent-Based Automation Center (IBAC), install the GAL modules that match your environment.
- Working offline? Your NetBrain team can provide the module packages for import.
