The OneIP Table does not currently include a dedicated column showing the Site associated with each entry, which makes it difficult to filter, sort, and read entries by site. This enhancement proposes adding a new Site column to the OneIP Table so that site information is directly visible alongside other IP details. Customers managing multi-site environments would benefit from improved organization and faster identification of site-specific data without needing to cross-reference other sources.
The device list panel within the Define Change and Execute Change runbook nodes displays target devices in the order they were added to the underlying change task, with no option to reorder the list. This enhancement would add a sort control to the device list panel in both nodes, supporting sort by Hostname (ascending and descending), Site, and Execution Status. Customers managing change tasks with large device counts would benefit from faster device lookup and clearer visibility into execution progress across the change process.
NetBrain's current upgrade process, including the Auto-Update patching option, still requires an administrator to manually access the Windows server to complete pre-check steps, and additional manual actions on backend database or Windows servers may be needed during execution. This dependency prevents a fully self-contained, UI-driven upgrade experience. This enhancement would introduce a centralized upgrade workflow that is fully managed through the NetBrain UI, removing the need for administrators to log into Windows or database servers during pre-checks or upgrade execution. A consolidated, GUI-driven process would reduce dependency on backend server access and additional tools, making upgrades more consistent and operationally accessible for L1 support teams, and simplifying upgrade management for customers operating in restricted or tightly controlled environments.
The NetBrain Automation tab in ServiceNow is currently visible to all users regardless of role or group membership, with no mechanism to restrict access based on resolver group or user role. This enhancement would allow administrators to configure visibility rules so that the tab is hidden from users who are not members of a specified role or resolver group. Customers with tiered support structures would benefit from a cleaner ServiceNow interface that limits access to authorized personnel, reducing confusion and unauthorized interaction with automation data.
NetBrain currently does not provide a consolidated, user-facing log of outgoing emails sent across features such as automations and dashboards. This activity is only recorded in raw worker server logs, requiring manual searching to trace email delivery details. This enhancement proposes adding a dedicated outgoing email log, similar in concept to the existing Device and User Access Logs, that captures the sender or originating feature, recipients, and timestamp for each email sent by the system. Administrators would benefit from faster auditing and troubleshooting of email delivery without needing to parse raw server logs.
The Function Portal currently offers only a limited set of node type options, which constrains the range of workflows customers can construct within it. This enhancement would expand the node library available in the Function Portal, adding additional node types as building blocks for users. A broader node selection would give customers greater flexibility to design more complete solutions directly within the Function Portal, reducing the need to rely on other parts of the platform.
Network Intent currently cannot compare its current data directly against Benchmark data; customers must first build an Automated Data Table (ADT) as an intermediate step to perform this comparison. This enhancement would add a native option within Intent to compare current values against Benchmark data, including prior dates, without requiring an ADT. This would simplify configuration and reduce setup effort for customers who rely on Benchmark comparisons for ongoing network validation.
NetBrain does not currently offer a general, native mechanism to automatically create sites and assign devices to them based on criteria such as hostname, location, or CMDB data; a comparable automated approach exists only for specific technologies such as ACI, GCP, AWS, and Azure. This enhancement would extend automated site creation and dynamic device assignment into a general capability that applies across all device types, using configurable criteria such as hostname, location, or CMDB attributes, whether delivered natively or through a plugin. Customers with large or complex environments would benefit from reduced manual site configuration effort, more consistent site organization, and faster onboarding as their device inventory grows.
NetBrain currently does not support a tiered retention policy for historical device configuration and data; retention is effectively all-or-nothing, meaning customers must either keep full historical data indefinitely or lose the ability to review meaningful history over time. This enhancement proposes configurable, tiered retention thresholds that reduce the frequency of retained snapshots as data ages, for example retaining all data for an initial period, then progressively fewer snapshots per week, and eventually only one snapshot per month for older data, with all thresholds and intervals administrator-configurable. Customers would benefit from reduced storage consumption while retaining a representative historical record across the full data lifecycle.
NetBrain does not currently provide a clear mechanism for assigning granular user permissions based on PingID authentication attributes during account creation, requiring administrators to configure access separately from the external authentication step. This enhancement would allow administrators to map PingID authentication attributes to specific NetBrain permission levels, so that granular access rights are established automatically when a user account is created through PingID. Customers using PingID as their identity provider would benefit from streamlined onboarding and consistent, centrally managed permission assignment without manual post-creation configuration.
The software version selector in replication settings currently supports only four matching options: Contains, Does not contain, Matches, and Does not match. This limits the ability to match version strings based on a leading prefix, since a 'Contains' condition can incorrectly match version numbers that share the same substring elsewhere in the string. Adding a 'Starts With' matching option would allow automation to match only versions beginning with a specified prefix, such as a major version number. This enhancement would improve the precision of version-based automation and reduce the risk of false positive alerts in compliance and configuration checks.
NetBrain's Change Notification email currently does not include the underlying configuration change details, requiring users to log back into the product to review what was changed. This enhancement would update the notification email template to include the relevant configuration change details directly in the message body. Customers would benefit from faster review of change content without needing to access the platform separately, improving change visibility and reducing follow-up effort.
NetBrain's Python API currently supports querying and updating data within an existing Automated Data Table (ADT), but it does not provide a method to create a new ADT programmatically. This enhancement would add a Python API endpoint that allows external scripts or systems to create a new ADT directly, complementing the existing query and update capabilities. Customers building automation workflows would benefit from full lifecycle control over ADTs through the API, removing the need to manually create tables through the UI before automating their use.
The dashboard world map alert currently links users to the general Geolocation Manager rather than to the specific devices that are missing a geolocation assignment, requiring manual searching to identify the affected devices. This enhancement would have the alert link open a filtered view listing only the devices missing geolocation data, rather than the full Geolocation Manager. Customers would benefit from faster identification and resolution of geolocation gaps, reducing the time spent manually locating affected devices.
NetBrain currently does not provide a way to export, view, or edit a Network Intent in a YAML or JSON representation; Intent configuration can only be managed through the standard interface. This enhancement proposes adding the ability to export an Intent to YAML/JSON, view its structure in that format, and edit it directly, including copying and pasting sections between different Intents. This would make Intent documentation easier for both users and AI-assisted tools, and would allow customers to reuse configuration blocks across Intents more efficiently.
The Intent Dashboard CSV export currently populates its Message column from the Device Status Code Summary rather than the complete set of diagnosis messages, so when multiple conditions are detected for a single device, such as alerts on separate sub-interfaces, only one message is reflected in the export. This differs from the ADT CSV export, which already captures every diagnosis message generated. This enhancement proposes updating the Intent Dashboard export logic to include all diagnosis messages per device, consistent with the ADT export behavior. Customers relying on the Intent Dashboard for reporting and auditing would benefit from complete and consistent diagnostic data across export formats, reducing the risk of missed conditions during review.
The main search field currently does not index or search data contained within NCT tables, such as the IPsec VPN table, preventing users from locating specific values like a remote peer IP directly through search. This enhancement proposes extending main search capability to include NCT table data, beginning with the IPsec VPN table, so that relevant field values become discoverable through the standard search workflow. Customers would benefit from faster access to device-level table data without needing to navigate to individual device views to locate specific values.
NetBrain currently does not support organizing saved Paths into folders, which makes it difficult for users to manage and locate specific paths as their number grows. This enhancement would introduce a folder and subfolder structure for saved Paths, allowing users to create, rename, delete, and nest folders similar to organizational capabilities available elsewhere in the product. Customers managing a large number of saved paths would benefit from improved organization and faster navigation when locating and maintaining specific paths.
