Redistribute Devices Evenly Among Front ServersIn Development

Hi all,is there a mechanism to redistribute devices evenly among front servers or do I have to do it manually using Shared Device Settings and Device Groups? I have a new FS added to my farm and find myself doing the redistribution manually, trying to find a filter in Device Groups that makes sense.If there is a mechanism, please share. If not, please accept this as an idea.

request to support IPv6Available

Our environment has a lot of IPv6 only devices that NetBrain don't support for now, so we have to assign IPv4 addresses to each one of them manually and that's very time consuming. Since we are planning to have more and more pure IPv6 devices, I'd like to request NB to fully support those devices just like you do with IPv4. IPv6 is the next big thing, so supporting IPv6 will greatly increase our adoption with NetBrain.

Provide a switch to render path trace in L2 right awayOpen

L3 path traces can be done using traceroute so the value of NetBrain’s path trace is not in its ability to render L3 path traces visually but to show the underlying L2 path.It would be useful to have a switch/button in NetBrain GUI and also API to render path traces in L2 right away.Currently we can only start an L3 path trace via API and run some device/link checks on the path using a DVT but it’s not of much use given that L2 path is often different from L3 path.With a switch as mentioned above, we could trigger a path trace directly in L2, so the DVT checks applied to L2 links would make much more sense and be more useful for troubleshooting.

Allow overriding the output of scheduled QAppOn the Roadmap

Scheduled QApp exports CSV with a unique name every time, appending random digits to the file name. It makes it difficult to script output parsing because the name of the latest file exported by QApp can’t be easily determined. Please add a checkbox in NetBrain GUI to allow overriding the result of QApp export, and make the file name static.

Change the device information on the mapOn the Roadmap

On the maps, the devices are shown with host name, IP and device type but device type is not very informative e.g. “Cisco IOS Switch”. It would be much better to show the model like “C9500-40X”.

No VLAN Interfaces in Inventory?Open

I am trying to get a list of all VLANs in a landscape or inventory containing VLAN ID, VLAN name, IP. It looks like the inventory only provides physical interfaces but no virtual interface information? What happened tointerface Vlan300 description VLAN 300 ip address 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0In the detail information of each device these interfaces are listed in the interface section but do not appear in the inventory.

Map view based on historic dataOpen

Hi,We have created the map based on topology but want to see the how the map topology on particular date / historic date. I didn’t find such option. It would be very beneficial if Alerts Rules generated SNMP Traps, along with email notifications. If we received an SNMP Trap in Solarwinds, for example, we would then be able to generate a Service-now ticket. A Service-now ticket could also be created if the NetBrain servers themselves had issues.

Show Data AgeOpen

When devices and data/data views are presented on a map, noboday can see how old the data of the Current Baseline is. The only thing I can do, to my knowledge, is to pop out the configuration of a device and in the new window the Last Execution Time will be shown.When showing a path, it might happen that for some or all devices the Current Baseline is based on obsolete data because for some reasons devices were unreachable or data could not be polled.I would like to have a data view that will show the date of the data. Eitheras a note to each device showing the last execution time or a note in the corner of the map showing the date range of all data that was usedA button would be great to activate and hide this view so as not to clutter up the map.

There are two different methods for accessing the Network Settings that are inconsistentOpen

We have identified an inconsistency within the application's Network Settings interface. Although the application provides two distinct methods for accessing Network Settings, the functionality presented through each method is not aligned.Method 1: Network Settings via Navigation MenuAccessing Network Settings through the navigation menu displays the following expected columns:Alias SNMP Version SNMP String Device CountDuring device discovery in this view, newly detected devices do not automatically sort to the top of the list. Users must manually right‑click a device and move it upward, which can significantly increase workload when handling a large number of discovered devices.Method 2: Network Settings via Discovery PageWhen navigating to the Discovery Page and selecting Networking under the Discover Devices via SNMP/CLI section, a pop‑up window is displayed. This pop‑up includes an Enable column that is not available in the interface accessed through the navigation menu. This additional column introduces functionality that is inconsistent with the first method. The two access points for Network Settings present differing layouts and capabilities. The absence of the Enable column in the first method and its exclusive presence in the second method creates usability gaps and may lead to inconsistent configuration of discovered devices. To ensure a unified and efficient user experience, alignment of functionality across both access methods is recommended. Recommended ActionsStandardize Interface Elements Across Both Access MethodsEnsure that both Network Settings interfaces display the same set of columns, including the Enable column, Alias, SNMP Version, SNMP String, and Device Count. This will reduce confusion and provide consistent configuration options regardless of entry point.Implement Automatic Device SortingIntroduce functionality that automatically sorts newly discovered devices to the top of the list in both methods. This enhancement will improve efficiency, especially when processing large numbers of devices during discovery.

Dynamic Device Discovery Tab/Window - and/or Multiple Manual DiscoveriesOpen

I would like to request that the “Discovery Window” not to be “locked” into the currently running Discovery (it would also be nice if we could run multiple manual discoveries at a time, instead of having to wait for the current discovery process to finish). When you’re running a manual discovery, of thousands of devices that takes hours to run, it would be nice to be able to open a new “Discovery” tab/window and be able to open discovery history to look at previous results and such, it would be even better if we could run multiple “manual discoveries” at the same time.  If the “current discovery” window gets closed, there could be a “link” to re-open the current discovery process to view how it is going.

probe Windows and Unix endpoints and use their data for map calculations to support end-to-end troubleshootingOpen

It will be very helpful if NetBrain can probe endpoint devices similar to how it probe network switches/routes.Useful data from the endpoints will be things like Interface, Ipconfig/ifconfig, route table, etc.Utilization metrics is also good, but even if we only have configuration data, it will be very help for end-to-end troubleshooting.In one of the recent incident meeting I went to...we found that the server is missing static route and therefore, the specific application traffic is being send out the default route interface.   For this case, we will not be able to see that on NetBrain bcoz it doesn’t calculate the path considering the route table on the endpoints.Based on what I can see on NetBrain 101 and 102 class, I think all the basic data concept are there …. configuration, interface, route tables, etc etc…… if we can get NetBrain to SSH to Unix servers to run some CLI commands (and remote execute powershell CLI commands on Windows servers) … I think we can have all the necessary config/data on NetBrain.If NetBrain can extent the discovery and mapping to endpoints with some configuration details, I think it will become a even more popular tools for troubleshooting.   It will certainly be my go-to tools… and I will be recommending it to all the customer supporting by our company (Kyndryl).If you need a co-create / pilot account, let me know and I will be happy to participate.Thanks.

Create Device 'Links'Open

Create a device ‘Link’ which can be used for external applications to allow ‘Linking’ to a specific NetBrain Map & Device.For example: Say I have an Excel spreadsheet (such as an Inventory Report) or Visio network diagram which shows a device. I’d like it to create a ‘link’ to that same device in NetBrain, such that following the link causes the appropriate map to open, centered on that specific device, with a default Zoom level of xxx%.This would aid in wider adoption of users who use more rudimentary tools like Visio, Excel or CAD to bring NetBrain into their ‘daily use’ tools.

Change module send "enter"Open

I would like to ask you to consider to add option to send "enter" in change module.Currently if there is in change an enter - empty line, it ignores the line. If I put there 1 space character it works in some cases, but not for the other.For example I want to delete username some cisco switches ask for confirmation to delete username. It is accepted "enter" or "y". But the some other models don't ask for confirmation, so if I use "y" the change is consider as invalid, because such command doesn't exist.Would be good to be able to send just enter (a new line) without extra characters.Case: #00180463

Statistics 'Totals' like in MS ExcelOpen

Within ‘Device Details’, in the ‘CLI Commands’ tab, provide ‘Totalization’ statistics, such as ‘Total Up Up’ ports, or ‘Total Connected’ and ‘Total NotConnect’, or ‘Total Number of Unique VLANs Used’, depending on the CLI Command being used.This could also be done in other tabs, such as the Data Tables for data such as the number of table entries.Include these totals as part of the ‘Reports’ statistics for Summary Reports, Device Reports, etc.

Access to golden parameter from NIIn Development

Use case:I am creating golden config rule to see if last resort password is configured in configuration. As the password is encrypted I am not comparing entire config line. As the password is different per location I am using Golden Base Parameter.example:username lastort1username lastort2 Now, I want to create network intent where I want to build entire config.example:Return from Golden config check is, that “lastort1” is configured, but lastort2 not.I want to check if username from golden base parameter is included in “Unused_patternt_lines” and create entire command including username and password.
