We have 100’s of network devices in Managed services Environment, in order to upgrade each switches we need to upload software images to each devices via ftp software and connect to each device and upload.Current Scenerio:Login to each Client Windows ServerInstall FTP Server Software (Solarwinds)Access the Network Device using the ftp server software and upload the Image. How do we can utilize NetBrain Frontserver to transfer the Image to each device via NetBrain Application?

Hi All Are there any users in the community who have set up dashboards that have become invaluable to them?Im at the early stages of dashboard creation and would love to hear from people who are using dashboards to make their lives easier - would love to chat and hear what has worked well

I am trying the following command:  “show platform hardware fed active fwd-asic resources tcam utilization” on cisco 9000 series switches.  The problem is it is a command that is used in the enable mode, but NB treats it like a user. Is there a way to have NB setup cli commands in enable mode? I understand its not normal commands like show run or show log, but for the commands that are needing this privilege mode is there a way to set NB to use the proper mode?

 Does the live regularly in this example pull stats every 2 mins for 10 times and then get the final results. Or does it pull it the 5 times and dumps into 1 report? Or is the live reg option mainly for cli related tasks?  “Live Regularly — log in to the device to retrieve live data regularly based on the customized frequency. You can check the Repeat checkbox and enter a number to set the execution times for this Qapp.I am trying to run a utilization report on my routers and wanted to get a better understanding of the Live Regularly option. I am using SNMP to pull the stats. The issue I am running into is its creating a csv report per run. I tried using the “Live Regularly” option and the schedule Qapp option, but I am not seeing much of a difference in outputs. I also made the csv file “adv” feature to append. Is there a way to have 1 csv file per day?  If I ran this check 1 hr per day that’s 24 reports * 30 days = 720 reports and if I increased that 6 reports per hour. It gets a bit

This is a transcript of the outcome of a Tech Support call with NetBrain and I: I just want to specify that it is the file in /sys/class/dmi/id/product_uuid that is missing and it is the system uuid that is missing not a filesystem uuid…!!Has anyone ever come across this before after migrating their DB Server and are then forced to reactivate the licence…!? My colleague and I have thought about the following: CHMOD 777 the full PATH and then create a new ‘product_uuid’ file with the legit licensed key and as the issue we face at the moment is that the if you try to amend inside that directory using ‘ROOT Credentials’ you receive the following error = ‘Operation is prohibited’

Hi Guys, Is there a built in Qapp/Runbook for temperature checks on devices. A few days back power went out partially in one of our mdf closets. We didnt realize the temperatures went over the threshold until one of our engineers went inside the room. We are now having discussions as to why our SNMP/DNAC tools never alerted us, and I think this would be a great idea for creating a runbook so we have constant checks on our devices.Trying to see if there is anything built in runbooks to start my work off, does anyone have an idea or has done something similar.P.S.I know creating a parser would be the best way to start, but I dont know if there is a simpler way of addressing my temperature issue.V/R 6ix

Has anybody setup SNMP in ACI to use Netbrain to pull information?

When I calculate paths, the system creates duplicates of defined devices causing branches in the diagrams despite ultimately finding the correct path.  My example is to calculate a path from the FrontServer to an switch at another facility.  The system duplicates the first hop as both the defined gateway device and also an End System (not defined).  The path for the end system ultimately fails, and the defined gateway device path works.  I will also share that a Trace works correctly.Does anyone know how to prevent the undefined End System from being created?

Is there a report/export that will give you the fields in SDS such asMode: Access Mode: Port: Username: Privilege Username: Jumpbox for FS:as well as the usual device fields Device Name, Mgmt IP, etc….   

Hello,could anybody share an experience how to overcome the limitations of site NetBrain site maps?Having a single L3 and L2 map available only, e.g.?Let’s say I’d like to create another L3  or L2 page focusing on DMZ only, showing more details (or other subnets/links) than the default L3 page used for the whole site?I know I can duplicate the default L3 or L2 page.But the duplicated page will not get the devices updated automatically.On the other hand: I was thinking about using the duplicated page as a “snapshot” of the default L3 or L2 page. But no matter of page settings I use, the links are always updated by daily benchmarks on the duplicated pages. So the only way to keep the links not updated is to save the map as a file to my private folder?Any ideas? Thanks,Milan    

Looking for some resolution on the above error. While discovering the device using seed discovery i am getting the below error:Failed:SNMP++ Get Error; SNMP++:SNMP request time outThe SNMP configuration on the network device is correct and using SNMP and SSH method for discovering the devices. Any help to t-shoot this issue.  

I’m loading a new pair of servers I wondering if I should move the MongoDB to the a different drive then where the OS is running, I have 127 SDA  and 250 SDB I think with the requirements in the for mongodb I would best install it on SDB drive or should I just delete the SDB and expand SDA?

So when I run a show command on a device in my Domain within NetBrain it takes about 30 seconds to retrieve the live data from the device so some critical data about the device are not seen in the output or result. But when I ssh into the device itself and run the same show command, it takes about 120 seconds to complete, thus retrieves the total and accurate data needed. How do I extend the time for data retrieval through CLI on a specific device within my Domain in NetBrain, specifically taking into consideration the Front Server settings? Thanks!

Hi,I’m using Netbrain 10.0a and the Rest API to get the One-IP table. API returns serverType and switchType by their ID but I want the full name. serverType string The type of the device that the IP belongs to. switchType string The type of the switch that the IP connects to.  I found old Netbrain documentations on the net about IDs and their name. For example: 2004 = Cisco Nexus SwitchBut I can’t find the information for these IDs :1005100930080Can someone help me? Thank you. 

We have a scenario where we are trying to search for a Cisco VoIP device using the standard search box on the dashboard. We have the switches added to Netbrain but the VoIP phones are not. The the sake of this example the devices hostname is SEP010203ABCDEF and it’s MAC address is 01:02:03:AB:CD:EF. The Hostname for a Cisco VoIP phone is usually SEP followed by the MAC address without any punctuation. The NDP table on the switch has the information to show that the device is a neighbour so in some capacity Netbrain could be aware of the name.. Searching for SEP010203ABCDEF reveals no results. Searching for 010203ABCDEF reveals no results Searching for 0102.03AB.CDEF returns a direct match in the ARP cache of the switch Searching for 01:02:03:AB:CD:EF returns a match for the MAC in the cisco format above in the ARP cache of the switch The ideal here is to search for the hostname in the easiest and quickest way possible. I want to reinstall the database server but when I am installation the Netbrain latest v10 it is showing me the following below error:  A previous version has been installed. I already uninstalled the mongodb and other related services from the server but still getting this error. Don't want to upgrade database just want to do wipe all the netbrain configuration 

Hi all , I am reaching to out to forum for assistance  on managing ICMP only enabled devices. I am working on architecture for laying out diagnostic approach for set of 60k devices. Out of 60 , i have 16K devices which are only ICMP enable by customer due to various security limitations and compliance. NO SNMP& SSH to these 16kK Device. During discovery will there 16K devices consume NB license as usual ? What all capabilities diagnostics approach will be present by ICMP only connection . Can these ICMP only devices contribute to effective diagnostic capability what Netbrain has to offer,  Any suggestion /recommendation to manage this set of devices is welcome and appreciated by community. RegardPrateek
