NetBrain does not currently validate the underlying operating system type and version before an auto-upgrade is initiated through the GUI. As a result, upgrades attempted on unsupported operating systems can fail partway through, leading to avoidable disruption and support cases. This enhancement would add a precheck step, either as a standalone validation tool or integrated into the GUI auto-upgrade workflow, that verifies OS compatibility before the upgrade begins. If the OS does not meet supported criteria, the upgrade process should not proceed and should present a clear warning message to the user. This would help customers avoid unnecessary upgrade failures, improve the overall upgrade experience, and reduce support cases related to unsupported OS environments.
