NetBrain's built-in configuration backup function currently converts all captured device configurations to plain text, regardless of the native output format used by the device. For certain firewalls and load balancers, the native configuration format is HTML, XML, or CSV, and a plain-text version of that output cannot be used to restore the device. This enhancement proposes allowing the backup function to preserve and store configuration data in its native format (HTML, XML, or CSV) for devices that require it, rather than forcing conversion to plain text. This would give customers a restorable backup for a wider range of devices, including firewalls and load balancers that depend on non-text configuration formats, reducing the risk of unusable backups during disaster recovery.
