NetBrain currently locks the name field for a generic device and its associated L3 interfaces once the record is saved, requiring the device or interface to be deleted and rebuilt entirely to correct a naming mistake. Additionally, generic devices with multiple aggregate interfaces and associated VLANs must be configured one field at a time, which becomes time-consuming for environments with many devices and interface variations. This enhancement proposes allowing users to edit the name of a saved generic device and its L3 interfaces without requiring deletion and recreation, along with a CSV or Excel import option to bulk populate aggregate interfaces and VLAN assignments for generic devices. This would reduce manual rework and significantly speed up configuration for customers managing large numbers of generic devices with complex interface structures.
