Site definitions that rely on hostname matching currently treat the search string as a match anywhere within the hostname, so devices whose hostnames contain the matching characters in a non-leading position can be incorrectly included in a site. This creates ambiguity for customers who define sites using hostname patterns alone. This enhancement proposes adding a 'begins with' match option, such as a caret prefix operator, so that site definition criteria can anchor the match to the start of the hostname string. Customers who rely solely on hostname-based site definitions would gain more precise site membership and avoid manual review of unintended matches.
