Hi,

We need to perform an SNMP walk using a different username and password instead of the NetBrain discovery credentials.

Parser library using netbrain SNMP discovery credentials.

Hi @Subhojit Dutta

this may sound stupid and maybe not feasable but what about assigning different SNMP credentials temporarily, doing the SNMP walk and reverting the credentials to original?

Or you could log into the front server and use snmpwalk Linux command from CLI with the other credentials?

Regards
Carsten

Hi @Carsten.Schmidt

Thanks, I am using multi tenant environment, don’t have access to front end ever.

If this can be added as feature on next release, this can be super useful.

Hi @Subhojit Dutta

So It is mainly used to check the reachability of the device. It only uses the NetBrain SNMP discovery credentials. The best way would be to add the credentials in the “Domain Management”:

You can also check SNMP access credentials for a specific device by right clicking on the device and going to “Shared Device Settings” as shown below:

Note:

However, feel free to submit it as a feature request through your NetBrain UI:

Hi @w_wadawasina

Thanks for the sharing the details, we are also using the same.

My requirement is to choose different username during snmp walk from parser library rather than device discovery username.

We have configure multiple username and view on the switch & routers for different purposes.

@Subhojit Dutta

Okay. Please go ahead and submit the requirement as a feature request as shown above so the team would analyze it and make a decision. Periodically the PM team will take into consideration requests based on frequency of similar requests and other strategic factors.
