NetBrain currently applies a fixed, non-configurable timeout of 3600 seconds to API calls made through the API Server Manager, unlike CLI and SNMP access, which both support configurable timeout values in domain management settings. When a device or API server becomes unreachable, calls held open for the full default duration can consume the limited pool of available worker threads, causing delays or failures for unrelated API requests. This enhancement would add a configurable timeout setting for API calls, consistent with the existing CLI and SNMP timeout controls, allowing administrators to set a shorter or standardized value appropriate to their environment. Customers would benefit from improved resilience and more predictable API performance when individual devices or servers become unresponsive.
NetBrain currently allows a locked map to prevent device repositioning within the full administrative client, but this lock state is not enforced when the same map is opened through the Function Portal, allowing viewers to move devices individually and alter the shared layout. This enhancement would extend the map lock setting to the Function Portal so that a locked map remains non-editable for all viewers, regardless of access method. Enforcing consistent lock behavior across both interfaces would preserve intended map layouts and prevent unintended changes when maps are shared with external or internal viewers.
Golden Intent currently displays only Alert messages in the results dashboard, while the underlying Golden Config displays both Alert and Success messages for the same check. This inconsistency limits visibility into checks that passed successfully when reviewing Golden Intent output. This enhancement would update Golden Intent to surface Success messages in the dashboard in the same manner as Alert messages, matching the behavior already present in Golden Config. Providing complete pass and fail visibility would give customers a reliable, single view of compliance check results without needing to cross-reference the source Golden Config.
NetBrain's Change Management currently displays only the names of changes associated with a device, without a consolidated view of execution details or planned activity. This enhancement would introduce a device-level dashboard or report showing all executed and planned changes for a given device, including their execution times, allowing users to review change history and upcoming activity in one place. Customers using NetBrain as their change execution platform would gain improved visibility into per-device change activity, supporting better auditing, scheduling awareness, and operational planning.
NetBrain currently collects routing table data through CLI-based retrieval, which becomes impractical at carrier-grade scale where route tables contain millions of entries and full-table pulls can take many hours while placing load on production routers and route reflectors. This enhancement proposes a dedicated front-end component that peers with a customer's routing infrastructure using standard routing protocols, maintains a local copy of the route table, and computes differential summaries locally, exposing only changed, added, or withdrawn prefixes to NetBrain rather than requiring repeated full-table CLI retrieval. Support for multiple routing protocols and optional integration with route monitoring or looking glass data sources would allow flexible, high-fidelity data acquisition. Customers operating at Internet-scale routing volumes would benefit from faster automation cycles, reduced control-plane stress on production devices, and more accurate, timely route change detection for intent-based validation.
NetBrain currently sends an account deactivation notification email that does not include the username or account identifier of the affected user, making it difficult for recipients to determine which account was deactivated. This enhancement proposes updating the deactivation email template to include the username in the subject line and/or body of the message. Including this identifying detail would allow administrators and recipients to immediately recognize which account triggered the notification, reducing confusion and follow-up investigation.
NetBrain currently applies a single session timeout policy to all user accounts, with no option to exempt a specific user from automatic session expiration. This limitation affects use cases such as NOC dashboards that must remain open and active on a display at all times without requiring re-authentication. This enhancement would allow an administrator to configure a per-user exemption from the standard session timeout policy, independent of the global timeout setting applied to other accounts. Customers running continuous monitoring or dashboard-display accounts would benefit from uninterrupted visibility without compromising session timeout security for standard user accounts.
The Network Intent send email action currently inserts a line break tag for every line of the message body, even when the message is already formatted using HTML tags. This behavior alters the intended layout and causes unwanted spacing or broken formatting when HTML content is submitted. This enhancement proposes detecting HTML-formatted message content and suppressing the automatic insertion of line break tags in that case, allowing the HTML markup to render as authored. Customers who build HTML-formatted notifications through Network Intent would gain accurate, predictable email formatting without manual workarounds.
