How do I make a NI as a blank template so it can be easily reused?

Am I missing something, There doesn’t seem to be an easy way to duplicate a preexisting NI to another device?

I created a parser for a select device, built a NI based on said parser everything looks good with output that can be mirrored to other devices, however if saved as template the original device that was used is listed.

If I then open it and duplicate NI for needed device then remove the original it will works, If I use the NI I built and load into as a Network Intent Cluster, I can run the same NI on multiple devices that I specific in a particular device group.

I want to be able to have someone to have the ability to add said NI to any Runbook on a dynamic map they built and add NI to their map without the original device created from the parser.

Can anyone advise if this is possible or direct me in the right direction.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks :)

I think I found my answer, You have to build a Qapp from parser

Nope 😐

The two are not the same…….

Strange that NI aren’t as easy to replicate as parsers 😕

We understand that you want to make a NI As blank template to be able to reuse. Auto Intent feature in NetBrain is the solution for this use case. Auto Intent allows users to quickly build intents based on existing intent templates without having to define parser and intent diagnosis logic from scratch.

Please see below steps for the Auto-intent / Intent based interactive automation:

  • you need to save the intent as intent template with defined Qualification like device type, device group etc. for replication.
  • install the intent template in intent Library [Intent based automation centre]  and decode the intent template so that system will check for qualified devices for replication.

Please see Intent Library (netbraintech.com) for details on Intent Library.

  • You need to check the Auto-Intent while installing intent template.

  • Intent template is now installed in the system. Open a map and add the devices on which you need to execute the diagnosis defined in the intent template.
  • If the map devices are listed in intent template’s qualified devices, then you will be able to create the on-demand Intent / replicate intent and execute diagnosis on the map devices.
  • Please see details about Auto Intent on Auto Intent (netbraintech.com)

Note: Auto Intent feature available in NetBrain IE Version 10.1.7  or above
